Getting back on track

April 1st, 2010 by admin

Steady....

Ever find yourself doing really well and then for some  non-apparent reason you just plain get off track?  I think it’s part of being human.  It happens to the best of us with work, relationships and of course our health maintenance.  The challenge, as I see it, is that when it comes to work or family there always seems to be someone around to give you a good poke and get you re-aligned to get you moving back in the right direction, however, when it’s your own health, most people won’t say a word.  Perhaps they don’t realize you need help, perhaps they’re not doing so well either, perhaps they figure it’s your life, your body, do what you will.  In any event, it can be difficult to get going in the right direction again when you seem to have lost momentum.  So, how do we get going again?  Simple…….. A Secret Ingredient to Effortless Ease

February 18th, 2010 by admin

Ever wonder why some people seem to get amazing things done with what seems like no effort at all?  Do you know anyone who day in and day out gets out there and does the things that perhaps we wish we were driven to do?  Maybe it’s exercise, hard work, dedication to practice or helping others.  Well, I have found there are many components that go into living an inspired life and achieving your goals with effortless ease, but there is one that in my mind sticks out head and shoulders above the rest.  To me, for this there is just no substitute for and it’s one of the main reasons I get up every morning…… (more…)

The Pendulum

February 8th, 2010 by admin

The Zen of pendulum swingingEver feel like you’re trying too hard but not sustaining the results you desire?  There’s a very good reason for that.  Quite often in life we tend to go all or nothing and thus goes the swinging of the pendulum.  I found in the past when I would try to “diet” that I would be so strict and exercise so intensely that after several weeks I would inevitably burn out and ultimately quit.  I would have drug my metabolism so low that when I reintroduced the no-so-healthy foods back into my life, I would gain all the weight right back and then some.  Now, as Forrest Gump says, “I am not a smart man….” but I do know this is no way to release weight. One Brick at a Time

January 30th, 2010 by admin

Often in life when we are presented with a large daunting task, it is easy to get so overwhelmed that we end up doing nothing.  I remember I felt a like this when I was very overweight.  It seemed to me that being a normal weight was so far away and so unrealistic that what good would making one good choice right now do.  Of course, this is thinking that will have to be overcome to ever accomplish the bigger things in life.

So how do we get past this? (more…)

Listen to Your Heart

January 7th, 2010 by admin

What you want, wants you.

I believe there comes a time in everyone’s life when they become unclear on what to do next or where to begin or how to get what you want. I think what even more people question is, “What do I want?” And though these questions have been pondered by nearly everyone that has walked the earth, even to this day and age, with all the information at our fingertips and vast knowledge available to us, it would seem we are no closer to these answers than we’ve ever been.

There is a simple answer. (more…)

This is a first for me, to start my new year this way, but what have you got to lose?……right.

Ah yes, New Years and it’s resolutions are finally here again.  What’s it going to be this year?  I remember when I started my journey to physical well being, I came to a realization that I didn’t need another list of goals that I may or may not have reached.  What I needed was to set my intentions not on what I was going to do in January, but how I was going to live my life from this point forward.  And so, that is what I did.  I wrote down these six intentions that go along with the Six Simple Truths. You Can Do it!

November 26th, 2009 by admin

I wanted to show this video to show you that there IS hope for everyone.  I remember being bigger than a lot of these people and thinking that my condition was going to be permanent.   Nothing is permanent. The Toa te Ching reminds us that even mother nature cannot create a storm that last forever.  Please know that if there is breath left in your lungs, there is hope.  And though it may seem more like fiction than reality, tell that to the people in this video.

“Where there is life, there is hope.” –

Publius Terentius Afer (190-158 B.C.), better known as Terence

Much love to all,

Over? Nothing is over until we decide it is.

November 24th, 2009 by admin

Ok, so trust me, I’ve been there before.  I was at the point where I just didn’t know if I had one more attempt in me to keep going and try again.  I remember one time when trying to do an intense 12 week program thinking to myself, “This is it.  If I don’t make it this time, I’m just not gonna make it.  I’ll go through the rest of my life this way because I can’t handle the disappointment of another failure. My spirit has a limit to what it can take.” (more…)
