Does the idea of exercise make you cringe sometimes? Do you ever feel like you just don’t want to to anything, including eat right, hit the gym, cleaning your house, doing your taxes or whatever it is that you need to get done in the moment, including losing weight? Well, cringe no more because I’m about to let you in on a little tip that has the power to change your life forever with less than two minutes of your time….
Ok, here’s the deal. You know what I’m talking about, right? When you just don’t feel like doing the things you know you must (or should) do? Of course, from time to time we all feel that way (with the exception of the 1% of you who are freakishly motivated all the time and part alien). Well, let me ask you a question, has there ever been a time when exercising or eating right or any of these “tough tasks” ever felt easy? Maybe even fun? Like you actually looked forward to doing them? What do you think the difference was between then and now?
Why can you sometimes stick to your plan and rock and roll and other times those same exact things seem difficult and arduous? Its because sometimes you manage to get yourself in the “zone”. You know that place where everything just seems to fall into place for you? Traffic flows, your diet rocks, exercise is a must, your work gets done effortlessly, people want to be near you and you want to help people? Oh yeah, the zone. This is where top athletes, actors, anyone who is on top of thier game spend much of thier time and you can too. How?
First you have to rethink how you spend your time and efforts and most importantly your mental energy. Most of us spend our time fighting our own resistance and making ourselves do things that we don’t want to do. This will almost always ultimately result in failure, eventually. Instead, try spending your time and energy getting in the zone, getting to that place of feeling great and then the rest will flow with ease. Really it’s a small price to pay and it doesn’t matter how long it takes to get there, the results are totally worth it. Ok…then…how do we get in the zone?
That is deceptively simple….and I will show you the several simple ways I have learned to do this in my next article.
