One Brick at a Time

Often in life when we are presented with a large daunting task, it is easy to get so overwhelmed that we end up doing nothing.  I remember I felt a like this when I was very overweight.  It seemed to me that being a normal weight was so far away and so unrealistic that what good would making one good choice right now do.  Of course, this is thinking that will have to be overcome to ever accomplish the bigger things in life.

So how do we get past this?

Simple, just look at the next best thing that you can do and work on doing it as best as you are able.  Like Will Smith said in his interview, one brick at a time.  Before you know it an entire wall will be where there was previously nothing.

Though it is very important to have vision and see the big picture, when you feel overwhelmed or like you just can’t do it, just refocus on the task at hand and remember, it’s all about the journey and it can all be fun.  If you start with that as your belief system, you will find life and your big tasks all to be a lot more enjoyable.

Don’t worry, you’ll get there…just keep on truckin.
