The truth about weight release, diets and fat loss

Go Slow on Turkey Day

Well, Thanksgiving is a wonderful day.  It should always remind us to be grateful for what we have and who we have in our lives.

I’m not going to sit here and knock you in the head with a bunch of tips on how to not eat so much food on thanksgiving, but I do want to talk about eating mindfully, and enjoying your friends and family’s company.

Mindful eating means really taking the time to slow down and appreciate what has been prepared for you.  I know that millions of people across the country are working very hard to provide us all with a delicious meal to let us know how much they love us.

If nothing else, let us take the time to really enjoy it and eat it slow and keep our focus on all of the things we have to be grateful for.  This is one thing that I’ve come to appreciate through my transformational journey.

And how about this (ok, so I am going to give you one tip), how about suggesting a nice leisurely walk after the meal is over (and cleaned up…guys).  It’s a great tradition.

That’s all I wanted to say.  Have a great day, enjoy yourself and like my great-grandmother used to say “Take care of one another”. (yes, she meant your in-laws, too)

Peace,

Nealon

balance, what’s that?

Neal, thanks for a thoughtful post. You may recognize me from the Y and your brief try of Overeaters Anonymous (OA). Today I attended an OA meeting at 3 PM in Atlanta to show my gratitude on this day of thanks giving for all that OA has given to me – free of charge. There were OA meetings every hour at the OA office. Through OA I released 100 pounds over 20 years ago and many of your tips that have helped me keep it off I learned in OA. These days food is just not the uncontrolable issue it was over 22 years ago. Thanks for sharing your blog link with me.
